What it feels to be a woman ?
It has been long since India has become independent. Women have been declared to be independent by the patriarchal society . They have come out from behind the curtains or from the secret corners in their kitchens. Several organizations have evolved protecting the safety and security of women.
In my country , I am just a woman.
I am a woman and I live in India .
I am a student who is looking beyond the boundaries.
I am a person to whom India looks upto for its growth.
Yet , unfortunately, I do not feel safe in the Indian nights.
why ?
Because the air is dark.
There is sense of ferociousness in the wind .
There is a shine of ferociousness within those eyes.
I need to cover myself while walking down the lanes of my country in the night.
I am scared of those eyes which invades my clothes forcibly .
I am afraid of those smile unwelcoming my presence through the dark lanes of my country.
I am worried of the names that I do not wish to be called at all .
I am afraid of my voice not being heard when I really need.
I am scared of the unloving touch that I always fear to get.
Yes , I am a woman , working independently, earning at my power but judged by the neighbourhood aunties.
Yes , I am the woman , a same breed worshiped by the dacoits before every burglaries.
Yes , I am the woman , who is worshiped by India as her 'Mata rani'
Yes, I am the woman , who is blamed for giving birth to a girl , a builder of a family tree.
Yes I am the woman who gets tortured , while India worships Laxmi Ji.
Yes I am woman who will stand strong again against the filthy hands .
Yes I am the woman, whose voice will end their existence in Indian land .
Yes , we support men those who respects our existence .
Yes, we love those eyes which shine but with love and respect for us in our motherland.
We fight against women who asaults men who deserves us.
We need those who makes India a better place for women and men.
