Education- An Unused Gift?

WHY EDUCATION IS EVERYTHING?
Education, a very precious thing that has the capability to uplift the society. Education is not only the academia but also the behaviour and the upbringing, the grooming , the way you talk, the way you behave, every aspect that you you express and that make you adaptive to the society is your education.
BUT NOT MANY ENJOY EDUCATION
This is because of the financial incapability and the lack of understanding the importance of being educated. Many cannot afford to understand the meaning of education. To them, either their practical skills is the education or illiteracy takes turn.
IS ACADEMIA ONLY FOR RICH?
Education is now one of the biggest businesses in the world. Education business in India is  was estimated to be worth $117BN and is expected to reach $313 Bn by FY30(SOURCES).   India, being the 3rd world developing country is the centre of attraction for the business tycoons especially in the field of education. The basic idea of education has changed from making everyone literate to creating business. The researchers will say, India is developing, creating jobs ,creating power, creating its position in the world business and economy. Still there is obvious question, is India really focussing on education?
QUESTIONING THE FREEDOM OF EDUCATION? IS EDUCATION A POISON?
Can education be controlled? Should there be a limitation of education? The best answer can be given by some of the leaders of the countries. While the countries speak of the basic rights that needs to be given to every human, these are the same people who would never want to educate their people. The monologue from a popular  Bengali film 'Hirak Rajar Deshe' by Mr. Satyajit Ray goes-পরাশুনা করে যে, গাড়ি চাপা পড়ে সে........ (Porashona kore je, Gari Chapa pore se), the king and his men raids a small open air school, and burns down the books, expels the teacher. He asks the students to repeat after him পরাশুনা করে যে, গাড়ি চাপা পড়ে সে..... repeatedly, so as the students start believing the same. The one who educates himself will have no value to the society. Its better to be illiterate.
This is much related to the present scenario today. Leaders don't want the country to question them. They do not want a strong opposition against their wrong doings. For that, If country can be deprived of education, then it will be all win situation for these people. The country needs education to question corruption which is the need of the hour.
This practice of depriving  from education is a common practice and has been a poison deeply rooted in the development of any country, be it, the history of British India, where the British banned  several newspapers, magazines, pamphlets that could ignite the need of freedom among the Indian mass.
LITERACY LEVEL OF INDIA?
The fun fact is that according to UNESCO report, India will achieve the universal literacy roughly 2060.Probably this is one of the major alarming fact that always goes unnoticed. According to Statista, India's literacy rate was around 74% in 2018, compared to global literacy rate of 86% for people around age 15 and above. In 2023 Rural India stands at 67.77 per cent, while in urban India, it is 84.11 per cent.(Information as  presented by Union Minister of State for Education, Annapurna Devi)
EDUCATION OR CONNECTION - JOBS
Actually both matters here, but what pays off is the practical knowledge. The basic education that matters is gaining of practical knowledge, technical knowhow, adaptability, good connections. But education can never be kept away. Everyday, there is an output, the failures, hard work which can all lead to gaining of knowledge.
CONCLUSION
The standalone point is Education is the need of hour, though we are just destroying it , without its actual value, we should find a proper way out to save education from the least trustworthy entities. Education conservation is very important and it is a high time we understand the need of education, the empty pockets in our society, truly manage to save ourselves from the tragedy of not educating ourselves. Education is the undeclared secret gift to the mankind, that is intangible, which is present everywhere, just waiting for the right time to be discovered. It can be something that can be perished by all, in different unique way in different space and time.
