Getting rejected isn't everything I have been looking for jobs always from the day I have graduated. Even I got a job but I let it go. It was a hard decision to leave a job that was right there at the tip of my finger. It was a much respected job offer from TCS, a lot of people dream of working here. The job promised a steady good salary that a fresher can receive at the age of 20.I chose to do Masters. I  always had a dream to work in a media organization, mainly broadcast. Another dream you may laugh after hearing is that , I badly wanted a press card. I wanted to be in Press, and that too of a reputed media organization. I wanted to experience the media organizations, the rawness and the beauty of working in these organizations. As planned , I did my 3 internships in 3 reputed media organizations. All three were very famous houses all over India. But I only interned with them, I experienced the three organizations for just 3 months. I craved more, especially for that card that h...

A memoir of Darjeeling Mall- A travel through words.

Image
Today, I am sitting on a green cold bench in the Darjeeling mall (the Chowrasta Square) with a woollen cap on my head enjoying the winter sun. I will now put a coloured brush rolling through my words and paint the scenes in your mind.Perhaps a transfer of memories to yours from mine? Darjeeling, a place where every memories come alive with a sip of the chocolate coffee from the chilly roof of the Keventers or the smoky momos from the graceful women.A road that whirls to the mall of reading people, viewing tourists and a bunch of walking monks to a nearby monastery and perhaps cute dogs roaming around. The road often dances to the tune of mountain strings played by the musicians waiting for a visitor to drop off a coin. The winter garment shops engage themselves in competition with the souvenirs to attract the passing visitors. The smell of the keventers' English breakfast however calls for all hungry bellies to fill them up.However it should be noted that these hungry bellies are insta...

They have come out from behind the curtains or from the secret corners in their kitchens. Several organizations have evolved protecting the safety and security of women. In my country , I am just a woman . I am a woman and I live in India . I am a student who is looking beyond the boundaries. I am a person to whom India looks upto for its growth. Yet , unfortunately, I do not feel safe in the Indian nights. why ? Because the air is dark.  There is sense of ferociousness in the wind . There is a shine of ferociousness within those eyes. I need to cover myself while walking down the lanes of my country in the night. I am scared of those eyes which invades my clothes forcibly . I am afraid of those smile unwelcoming my presence through the dark lanes of my country. I am worried of the names that I do not wish to be called at all . ...
